About Sessions Blend

Sessions is currently comprised of two different coffees sourced by Kodachrome Coffee and Sundog Trading:

Finca el Joconal Washed, by Rudy Carcamo from La Union, Lempira, Honduras
This coffee comes from one of three farms managed by Rudy Carcamo, and is roughly 4 manzanas (6.9) acres in size. It’s Steve and Emery’s fifth year working with Rudy through our friendship with importer Kodachrome Coffee in South Bend, Indiana. We are very excited to continue growing this relationship in the years to come, and many of Rudy’s coffees we have in regular rotation throughout the year.

Humure Station Washed, by Emmanuel Rusatira from Gatsibo District, East Rwanda.
Humure is one of a few washing stations run by Emmanuel Rustira of Baho Coffee. It’s one of his larger stations, and collects cherry from about 1500 smallholder farmers in the area to make up this station level blend. Although the intention here is to produce a more traditional lot without the added cost and labor that is required of microlot separations, it consistently exceeds our expectations of quality and consistency in what many would refer to as a “blender” coffee.

About Blends

There are many reasons why roasters choose to blend coffee, and at Shuv we do so to accomplish two particular things: 1) to create a year-round dependable flavor profile or 2) to highlight something specific about an aspect of coffee we’d like to share with you. In both of these instances, we intend to uphold our values of traceability above anything else and providing as much information at the roasting level as possible.
